What a gorgeous day to set off for Stillwater, Oklahoma and the one-room schoolhouse experience in 1899.Teacher, Miss Anna is giving us our first instructions for the day.
What a great looking class! We couldn't wait to get inside the schoolhouse and find our desks.
Writing on slate boards
It didn't take long to observe all the differences between this classroom and our own back at OCS.
Miss Anna showed us the many forms of discipline used back in 1899.
Jessica wasn't too eager to watch Josh receive his spanking.
Noses on the board for talking....
The expression on Brandon's face says it all.
Working hard using pen and ink
Reading from the McGuffy reader and then it was lunch and recess.
Playing "Annie, Annie, Over" was the favorite. Teams were on either side of the schoolhouse throwing a ball over the roof.
Afternoon activities a science experiments and a spelling bee. Our three finalists and our winner! Taylor was proud to receive a certificate from Miss Anna.
All too soon, it was time to head back to Edmond, OCS, and 2010! Good bye Pleasant Valley and thanks for a giving us a glimpse into the past.
